A NEW state-of-the-art charging hub has opened in Ayr - marking a significant milestone for electric vehicle (EV) charging in the region.
The IONITY facility, located at Wheatpark Place, beside Premier Inn, officially went live on September 12.
IONITY is a joint venture between automotive giants BMW Group, Ford Motor Company, Hyundai Motor Group, Mercedes Benz AG, and Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche.
The hub features six 350kW High Power Charging (HPC) stations, the fastest chargers available in Ayrshire.
There are plans to expand the hub to 12 stations as demand increases, further enhancing its capacity to serve the community and travellers along the A77/M77 corridors.
The charging stations will be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy, aligning with IONITY’s mission to support the decarbonization of transport across the UK and Europe.
For more information, visit the IONITY website or stop by the new hub at Wheatpark Place.
