PLANS to demolish a building on the Trump Turnberry estate have been given the green light.

Bosses proposed to flatten the structure known as 'GM House', which is located within Little Turnberry Farm.

A prior notification for the work was submitted to South Ayrshire Council several months ago and has now been granted.

Standard working hours for the demolition will be between 8am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Council planners stated: "The demolition of the building is considered to constitute permitted development.

"The building has not been rendered unsafe through action or inaction, and it is noted that the building is surplus to requirements."

Proposals to demolish a second building on the farm were submitted to the local authority back in June.

The Den sits on Little Turnberry farm in Maidens, and is described in documents lodged with South Ayrshire Council as having "outlived its useful life" and being "unsuitable for modern living".

The farm itself, located on Shanter Road in Maidens, is used as part of the Trump Turnberry resort's provision of outdoor activities, including horse riding.
