Building work is progressing well on NHS Ayrshire & Arran's new specialist centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
The new facility at West Road in Irvine will also host the all-age Community Eating Disorder Service in Ayrshire and Arran.
With building works already underway, the centre will aim to change the way the residents of Ayrshire and Arran access and receive mental health care. The work is being carried out in partnership with North Ayrshire Council.
It will also provide a base for outpatient services for the Community Eating Disorder Service (CEDS) and Neuro-CAMHS team.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s CAMHS/CEDS Senior Manager, Stuart McKenzie, said, “We are working hard to support the mental health and wellbeing of the population of Ayrshire and to ensure they have access to high quality services.
"The centre will be able to provide a familiar space for individuals as they receive the support they need to help them navigate the challenges they face.”
Building works are due for completion October this year.
