The Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board is now looking for a new non-executive member.
The board isn't involved in the day-to-day running of the organisation, but provides leadership, guidance and direction.
You do not need to be a health expert or have previous experience of being on a board. They want to hear from people with a diverse range of skills, backgrounds and knowledge.
For this role in particular, they are looking for someone with people management experience.
Being a non-executive board member shows your ongoing commitment and at times will require a degree of flexibility subject to the board’s ongoing business needs.
While the time commitment will vary week to week, the role will take up on average around eight hours per week and will be a mix of daytime board meetings, committee meetings, reading documents and attending stakeholder events.
Linda Semple, Interim Chair of Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board, commented: “Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board is delighted to offer this opportunity to welcome a new non-executive member to the Board.
"This is a valuable role and will be best suited to someone with a keen interest in becoming more involved in decision making and in ensuring the accountability of the executive board members. I would encourage anyone who has a strong desire to make a difference to consider applying.”
Members of the public who are interested in the role can find out more at one of their online information sessions with Linda Semple on Monday, September 9, from 6.30 – 7.30pm and Wednesday, September 11 from 6.30 – 7.30pm.
