Talented singers from Marr Cappella raised over £2,700 for a Troon scout group thanks to their spring concert back in May.

Troon's community choir raised a fantastic £2,770 through ticket sales and other fundraising activities on behalf of the 28th Ayrshire (Troon) Scout Group.

A Scout spokesperson said: "On Friday night, leaders attended an evening with Marr Cappella - Troon’s community choir - who presented them with a cheque for £2,770 which was raised at their recent spring concert in aid of the 28th to secure and improve the community facilities on offer within our halls.

"We are extremely grateful to Marr Capella for hosting the concert in aid of the 28th and for all those who attended and gave so generously."

Anyone who would like to join Marr Cappella for its Christmas concerts this year, rehearsals start on Tuesday, September 3 and weekly thereafter in St Meddans Church from 6.45pm-8.30pm.
