Bannantyne's Health Club in Ayr was helping a former marathon runner make a change of pace in 2009 as he prepared to trek across Kilimanjaro in aid of Ayrshire Hospice. Ronnie Steele, 62, was working with fitness advisor Graham Cullen to build his strength and stamina ahead of the trek.
Youngsters in Prestwick did their bit to clean up Arran Park in late August 2009 - and got some fetching outfits for the dirty job.
RAF Prestwick organised a fundraising night for the Help Our Heroes campaign, with singer Michelle McManus topping the bill. The event was held at Loudoun Castle in August 2009.

Children from across Ayrshire showed off their talents at a major exhibition in Ayr’s Maclaurin Galleries in 2009. The winners were 10-year-old Blair Wallace from Irvine, four-year-old Lucy McNally from Prestwick and seven-year-old Ivo Wright from Wigton, who received their prizes from Gordon Wilson, chairman of Friends of the Maclaurin, at a ceremony held at Rozelle.
