NO criminality was established by police after a report was made regarding the behaviour of a man in Ayr.
Officers say they carried out enquiries after the report was made around the Riverside Path in the town.
The incident was taken to police at around 8pm on Tuesday, August 20, and followed a post made on social media by a person who claimed to be followed by a male in the area.
They said: "Today I took the dog for a walk and felt like I was being followed. It turns out I was.
"Every time I stopped and turned around a man disappeared into the trees then eventually started running after me.
"Even though I’ve got a massive dog, I was actually really scared! Please be careful, especially women walking alone."
Police Scotland say enquiries carried out with regard to the incident led to no criminality being established.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 8.10pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, officers received a report regarding the behaviour of a man in the Riverside Path area of Ayr.
“Enquiries were carried out and no criminality was established.”
