A kind-hearted woman has raised a fantastic £300 for Prestwick's Broadway cinema after completing the Scottish Half Marathon.

Louise McAdam undertook incredible initial works at the cinema in her final year of university. She provided the basis volunteers needed to prove the steel frame of the building was structurally sound, securing the future of the original auditorium.

Louise kindly chose to run the Scottish Half Marathon last weekend to raise money for the Broadway's restoration.

She said: "This holds a special place in my heart as it was my first real civil engineering project at university, and it has become my first love in terms of engineering projects with its community spirit, heritage and embrace of sustainable design."

A Broadway spokesperson said: "Congratulations to Louise who finished the Scottish Half Marathon on behalf of the Broadway, and successfully raised £300.

"We are so incredibly proud. Months of training, dedication, and commitment to raise funds to help bring our cinema back to our community.

"Louise fell in love with the Broadway as we did after choosing us for her final year engineering project at Heriot-Watt University, together with Chlöe, Ella, and Aislinng.

"We can't thank Louise enough and can't wait to welcome the Emplace team back to the Broadway soon."
