AN AYRSHIRE autism support charity has explained more about the advice and services it offers during a visit from one of the area's MSPs.
Autism Support Ayrshire provides help to people affected by autism across the region.
The charity is part of the National Autistic Society of Scotland and receives support from Health and Social Care Partnerships in East, North, and South Ayrshire.
The organisation provides a confidential, free service of advice and guidance for individuals, parents, carers, and professionals across the county, including signposting, autism workshops, and social activities.
Carol Mochan, who represents the South Scotland region for Scottish Labour, said: “I am grateful for the invitation to visit Autism Support Ayrshire in Ayr, where I met the team and learned more about the services that they offer across the county.
“The organisation is undergoing a period of change with staff coming in the door and a three-year funding settlement from health and social care partnerships across the county, ensuring that they continue to hold a place in the national system of organisations supporting autistic people and their families.
“I was interested to hear of the new projects that Autism Support Ayrshire are working on already, such as the relocation of the National Autistic Society’s Chelsea Flower Show Garden to the Society’s Hub in Catrine, beside the River Ayr, and I look forward to visiting when that is in its place.”
