A TOP symphony orchestra is set to bring the sound of Vienna to Trump Turnberry for a special charity concert.

The 'Night In Vienna' gala event on September 20, featuring Capella Edina, will raise funds for the Army Benevolent Fund and for the future work of the orchestra.

Set in the opulent ballroom of the hotel, the event promises an unforgettable night filled with music and culture with musicians from Capella Edina taking guests on a musical journey through Viennese waltzes, marches and polkas, celebrating the rich heritage of ‘The City of Music’.

Founded by 20-year-old conductor, Luis Schmidt, Capella Edina is the newest addition to Edinburgh’s arts and culture sector, which has not featured a professional symphony orchestra of its own since 1937.

The orchestra is committed to making classical music more accessible and serving the community, for which it is rolling out an educational programme for its 2025 season, all under the motto ‘United by Passion for Music’.

Speaking about the event, Luis Schmidt said: “This special event aims to raise funds to support the work of Capella Edina and the Army Benevolent Fund.

"The generosity of our supporters enables us to continue delivering high-quality musical performances, educational programmes and community outreach initiatives, while also supporting those who have served in the armed forces and their families.”

“The evening is about coming together and celebrating in one of Scotland’s most iconic settings, enjoying extraordinary music and making a meaningful impact.”

The event will start with canapés and a glass of fizz at 6.15pm, followed by a three-course gala dinner in the Ballroom.

For those who prefer to join for the music only, concert tickets are available.

The gala evening will include a live and a silent auction to raise funds for both charities.

Tickets are priced from £60 and available from the Capella Edina website at https://ce.lsmpublishing.com.
