A team of family, friends and supporters of an Ayr youth football team are getting their trainers on for a 10K effort to help the team experience an away tournament.

Th group from Ayr Boswell's 2010s squad will be taking on the Great Scottish Run 10K in October, and are already halfway to reaching their target of £500.

A fundraising page has been set up for the group, with the aim of raising enough money to give the talented young footballers the trip of a lifetime.

The fundraiser says: "Every week the team give their all, they show up at training with grit and resilience to improve their game and in turn make us proud at every game and training session. It is now time to support them so they can broaden their footballing journey.

"The boys have come together as a team and it’s time that their supporters do the same, any support is appreciated, whether it’s on the side line, via sponsorship or in this case putting on your trainers!

"As part of our fundraising efforts we have a team of supporters who have signed up to the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run 10K in October with the hope to show the team that with effort and determination anything is possible!

"There will be smiles, there will most likely be some tears but with the finish line in sight we do it for Ayr Boswell 2010."
