AYR, Prestwick and Troon's MPS has congratulated pupils across her constituency as they receive their exam results.
Around 145,000 students across Scotland have achieved a wide range of results across National 4 and 5s, Highers and Advanced Highers.
Provisional results from the SQA show strong performance in South Ayrshire, with thousands of pupils receiving passes across their subjects.
Siobhian Brown says these achievements are particularly impressive as many pupils across Ayr, Prestwick & Troon would have experienced significant disruption to their education due to the pandemic.
Ms Brown said: “I would like to warmly congratulate every pupil across my constituency as they receive their exam results – your achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication you have put into your education.
“This group of young people have had a difficult educational journey due to the pandemic, so they should be extremely proud of their achievements.
“It is hugely encouraging to see a record number of young Scots also going to university, especially a record number from deprived communities, demonstrating the progress the SNP Government is making towards widening access to higher education.
“I would also like to encourage any young person who is unsure of what their results mean for their future to get in touch with the fantastic support offered by Skills Development Scotland, who will be able to provide advice on finding jobs and understanding higher education opportunities.”
Pupils who are unsure about what their results mean for them are also being encouraged to contact Skills Development Scotland on 0808 100 8000 who will be able to provide advice on future career options.
