Ferry company CalMac have amended the timetable for sailings between Troon and Arran on Wednesday to provide extra capacity.
The announcement of additional sailings comes just days before this Saturday's Brodick Highland Games, when a large number of visitors are expected to head to the island.
In order to provide additional capacity from Troon on Wednesday, the following amended timetable will operate:
- Depart Troon 8.35am (delayed 8.30am, arrive Brodick- 9.55am.
- Depart Brodick 10.25am (delayed 10.20am), arrive Troon 11.45am.
- Depart Troon 12.45pm (early 1.30pm), arrive Brodick 2.05pm.
- Depart Brodick - 2.35pm (early 3.20pm), arrive Troon 3.55pm
- Depart Troon 4.25pm (additional sailing), arrive Brodick 5.45pm.
- Depart Brodick 6.15PM (additional sailing), Arrive Troon 7.35pm.
Passengers heading to Arran from Ardrossan for the games on Saturday, August 10 have been strongly encouraged to make a booking in advance - even if travelling as a foot passenger - as spaces will be limited.
CalMac said anyone arriving at the port without a confirmed booking cannot be guaranteed travel.
The 9.45am sailing from Ardrossan to Brodick is already fully booked.
