Essential bridge parapet and safety barrier replacements are continuing on a stretch of the A77 between Ayr and Kilmarnock.
Works have been taking place for the past few weeks on the A77 Kilmarnock bypass at Spittalhill.
The work is being carried out using continuous single lane closures until Sunday, September 22, with an overnight closure between 8pm on Sunday, September 22 until 6am on Monday, September 23.
Southbound traffic will be diverted via the A77 Bellfield interchange to the westbound A71.
Vehicles will be directed on to the A78 at the Warrix interchange and then via the Monktonhead and Dutchhouse roundabouts to rejoin the southbound A77.
The A77 southbound slip road from the B7038 Ayr Road will be closed on a 24-hour basis between Wednesday, July 24 and Sunday, October 6.
Traffic will continue on the B7038 Ayr Road and at the roundabout, take the fourth exit to B7072 Hurlford Road.
Vehicles will then follow a signed diversion to A735 Queen’s Drive and Bellfield Interchange, to join the southbound A77 via the on-slip.
The A77 northbound carriageway between Spittalhill and Bellfield will see continuous single lane closures until 8pm on Sunday, October 6, with a final overnight closure between 8pm on Sunday, October 6 and 6am on Monday, October 7.
Traffic will be diverted off the A77 northbound to the B7038 (Ayr Road) and at the roundabout, will be directed to take the fourth exit to Hurlford Road.
Vehicles will then continue to A735 Queen’s Drive and will be able to re-join the A77 northbound at Bellfield Interchange.
