The opening bid of a former busy pub in Ayr has been reduced as it heads to auction again this week.

The Wee Man's public house on Green Street has been under the hammer since the start of the year with bids originally starting at £65,000.

In its latest foray onto the open market on August 8, the property will have a starting bid of £52,000 on Future Property Auctions.

The property has been vacant for a number of years and occupies a substantial footprint on the prime corner trading spot.

It is around 900 square feet in size, and is suitable for a range of uses including possible residential conversion.

The pub comprises a main door entry, bar area, male and female customer toilets, a store room to the rear and fire exit.

The building is being marketed by Future Property Auctions, with a current deadline of 3pm on Thursday, August 8 for bids.

A Future Property Auctions spokesperson said: "The property would be an ideal HQ building or as a business centre with potential for alternative uses such as residential, subject to obtaining the necessary consents.

"Offering vast potential to the investor with both rental potential and re-development for a variety of alternative uses.

"Public transport is available nearby with bus and rail links giving access through the town and surrounding areas.

"Features include CCTV system, alarm, mains electrics (own supply) and double glazed window units."
