AN EVENT has been planned in Ayr to mark 200 years of the fire service in Scotland.
And the free to attend celebration being held at the town's Low Green is one that is sure to bring plenty of interest.
Taking place on Saturday, August 17, the event will run from 10am until 4pm.
As a celebration of two centuries of the fire service in Scotland, an interesting insight will be given to the history of the organisation.
More than 20 appliances are set to be displayed at the Low Green, from current engines to those from years gone by.
Those in attendance will also have the chance to take a look around the impressive appliances.
A number of stalls will also be set up for the day, so there will be plenty to keep all the family entertained.
