South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell recently visited Lichtenfels in Germany to mark the 50th anniversary of the Bavarian town being twinned with Prestwick.
Provost Campbell was accompanied by South Ayrshire Council’s Chief Executive Mike Newall, President of Prestwick Town Twinning Association Rhona Allanach, and members of the twinning association.
They attended a civic event hosted by Burgermeister, Andreas Hügerich, First Mayor City of Lichtenfels, at the City Castle on Saturday, July 27 to mark the significant milestone and strengthen future connections between the two towns.
Prior to signing the Anniversary Book, there was a performance Glen Regnitz Pipe Band.
