A Prestwick sports bar has called on the local community for support following the death of its founder.

Tributes were paid to popular businessman Kevin Finnie last week following his death at the age of 55.

Kevin's body was discovered at a property in Prestwick, and tributes flooded in from colleagues across the hospitality industry.

He enjoyed a long career in the hospitality trade, first founding the Treehouse Leisure Group in 1999, which ran The Treehouse in Ayr and Kilmarnock.

He also ran Life Night Club in Kilmarnock and Cafe Bonne in Prestwick. More recently, he ran The Buf in in Prestwick.

Staff at The Buf and the associated One 11 Main Street music venue have now urged the public to keep supporting them following Kevin's sad death.

A spokesperson said: "The Buf Prestwick and One 11 Main Street are Kevin's legacy and are still being run by the family.

"We urge you all to not boycott them, but instead support us through this hard time. That’s what Kevin would have wanted.

"We are still operating as cash only for the next coming days as personal accounts are frozen.

"We hope to see you all in for a drink abd a laugh. Thank you for the outpouring of comments and love at this hard time."
