A FOUR-DAY celebration of live music and entertainment is being held in Troon this week alongside the Open Championship.
The Out Of Bounds event will see Troon Concert Hall boast four live stages and a food and drink area celebrating the best of Scottish food and drink from Thursday, July 18 until Sunday, July 21.
Each day will offer multiple events, both paid and free, across the various stages ranging from traditional Scottish folk from Eddi Reader, more contemporary styles from Tide Lines and all the way through to 1970s punk icons The Skids.
Every ticket is priced under £30 to keep it affordable. The remaining tickets will be available on the door subject to availability.
In addition there is free music from 6pm everyday on the second stage and on the Buskers’ Bus Stop Stage which sits right outside the free shuttle stop running from the golf course.
The organisers, Plan B Events, already run successful live music events in Ayrshire with the intimate South Beach Sessions gigs and the larger international rock festival every November, WinterStorm.
Promoter, Ian McCaig, explained: “We’re struggling to find any previous Open Championship that has put on a series of live music events across the whole week, and certainly believe that it’s a first for Ayrshire.
“We’ve focussed on some of Scotland’s best known acts, but with a diversity of styles and genres. Eddi Reader, Tide Lines, The Skids, Blue Rose Code and Clann an Drumma, and a tribute night on the Saturday, will provide the main stage entertainment, with a host of acoustic and local artists providing additional entertainment on the second stage and the Sunset Sessions Lounge, overlooking the sea.”
Out of Bounds is being supported by South Ayrshire Council as part of the Destination South Ayrshire programme.
