A loving Ayr couple have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary surrounded by family.
Joseph and Kathleen Handley recently celebrated their Blue Sapphire wedding anniversary. Joe, who is originally from Cumnock, met Kathleen, originally from Ayr, at the Pavilion in Ayr.
The couple married at St Margaret's Church in Ayr and have lived happily in the town ever since.
Joe is a retired hairdresser and Kathleen is a retired teacher who still volunteers at the local hospital.
The pair are dedicated and respected members of the local community, and after 65 years of marriage, they now have four children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
They celebrated the significant milestone surrounded by family, including a daughter who travelled all the way from Adelaide in Australia for the occasion.
South Ayrshire Provost, Iain Campbell, and Depute Provost, Mary Kilpatrick, visited the couple's home to congratulate them on their anniversary and present them with a bouquet of flowers.
