A MAN has been charged with grabbing a woman’s breasts and buttocks before shouting and swearing outside a Prestwick bar on the weekend of the Scottish Grand National in Ayr.
Nathan Clattenburg pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault in The Buf bar, and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in Prestwick ‘s Main Street.
The 22-year-old, of Durham, is alleged to have seized the complainer by the buttocks and then her breasts on April 21 this year.
The prosecution alleges that he pulled the woman's body towards him and attempted to kiss her in the alleged incident.
It's claimed he also caused fear and alarm after shouting, swearing and behaving in an aggressive manner while on Prestwick's Main Street.
Mr Clattenburg was not present when his case called at Ayr Sheriff Court, but he submitted a letter pleading not guilty to both charges.
Dates were fixed for a further procedural hearing and then a trial later in the year, and Mr Clattenburg was ordained to appear.
All accused persons reported in the Ayr Advertiser are considered innocent unless or until they are later found, or admit to being, guilty.
