Rental prices for Airbnb properties in Troon and the surrounding area have exploded by as much as five times the regular price during The Open.
The major golf championship will be played at Royal Troon from July 17-21,with tens of thousands of visitors set to descent on the region to watch the world's best players.
As of July 8, just three properties remain available to rent in Troon on Airbnb for the weekend of July 19-21 - at massively inflated prices.
A one bedroom apartment in the town is available for £731 per night, compared to just £140 per night one month later from August 18-20.
A duplex apartment capable of hosting seven guests is available to rent for £1,000 per night, compared to £180 per night just one month later.
Finally, a property for eight guests is rentable for a whopping £1,950 per night, more than double the regular cost.
It is not much better outside Troon either, with a four-guest property in Loans available to rent for £500 per night from July 19-21, compared to £130 per night just a few weeks later.
In nearby Prestwick and Ayr, prices for one night during The Open range from £400 to over £1,000 depending on size.
