Speed restrictions and temporary road closures are set to come into place as The Open arrives in Troon. 

The major golf tournament is taking place at Royal Troon from July 14-21, with tens of thousands of visitors set to flock to the area. 

South Ayrshire Council and the Ayrshire Roads Alliance are implementing various traffic calming measures to deal with the surge in vehicles. 

No waiting restrictions will be in place in Loans, Monkton, Prestwick and Troon from 6am to 10pm each day. More details on this can be found at orlo.uk/rmk4K.

A 30mph speed limit will be in force, and right turns will also be banned, at certain roads and junctions in Monkton, Prestwick and Troon from July 13-22. More information can be found at orlo.uk/k9kax.
