AN AYR salon director has been honoured at the prestigious British Hairdressing Business Awards 2024.
Rachael Macdonald, salon director at Rainbow Room International in Cathcart Street, has been named Salon Stylist of the Year.
Hairdresser's Journal's British Hairdressing Business Awards shines a spotlight on those making waves in the hairdressing industry, changing the game for everyone involved.
At a dazzling grand final event held at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, Rachael emerged as a standout in a fiercely competitive category.
Her exceptional skills, creativity, dedication to the craft, and ability to transform clients while maintaining the highest standards of hairdressing secured her the coveted title.
The news of the award win comes amid an extraordinary year for Rachael, who also won the 'Fantastic Hairdresser of the Year’ award at Rainbow Room International’s annual congress awards ceremony in February.
Rachael has also been heavily involved with the Rainbow Room International artistic team, working with the team backstage at London Fashion Week.
She has also worked at renowned events including TRNSMT and BAFTA Scotland, presented on stage at industry events and supported the team on photoshoots.
Reflecting on this momentous achievement, Rachael said: "Winning the British Stylist of the Year is the most incredible moment of my career thus far.
"It is something that I never thought I'd be able to achieve.
"Last year I decided to start saying yes to every opportunity that came my way and doing so has brought me to this incredible moment.
"I'm so blessed to have incredible support from my colleagues, my clients and my family. I can't wait to see what else will happen as I keep on saying yes!"
