Volunteers from Girvan RNLI enjoyed a special day out at Holyrood Palace for the King's Royal Garden Party.

Some of the station's crew, management and fundraisers were nominated by Lord Lieutenant John Dalrymple Hamilton to attend on Tuesday, July 2.

Lifeboat Coxwain Callum Govus, press officer/crewmember Craig Sommerville, treasurer/crewmember John Tait, crewmember Brian Gibson, chairman John Warwick, fundraiser Vicky Barrowcliffe and deputy launching authority David Bova all attended.

They joined RNLI volunteers from all over Scotland as well as many others from various professions and walks of life at the royal event.

A spokesperson said: "With King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince Edward and Sophie Dutchess of Edinburgh among the Royal Family members all making time to walk around and meet everyone and chatting, it was a fantastic day.

"If your find yourself in Edinburgh, drop by Princess Street Gardens and see the amazing floral clock, which this year celebrates the RNLI's 200th anniversary."
