Party leaders from the Scottish National Party visited Ayr over the weekend as election day draws closer. 

First Minister and SNP leader John Swinney was in South Ayrshire to support candidate Allan Dorans. 

He met with supporters on the town's seafront who were waving flags and banners, in what was described as a "positive atmosphere" by the area's last MP. 

Also in town was ALBA Party leader and former First Minister Alex Salmond, supporting candidate Corri Wilson. 

She said: "Team Alba have been busy campaigning across the constituency and we were delighted to have Alba party leader Alex Salmond join us this weekend in Ayr to speak to voters on the topics that matter most to them."

The full list of Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock candidates on July 4, in alphabetical order by surname, is Allan Dorans (SNP), Martin Dowey (Conservative), Paul Kennedy (Liberal Democrat), Andrew Russell (Reform UK), Elaine Stewart (Labour), Korin Vallance (Green), Corri Wilson (Alba).
