A POPULAR bar in Prestwick has officially been named the best in the south of Scotland at the National Pub and Bar Awards 2024.

Vic’s in Main Street was one of 13 pubs to be named as the best in its region at the award ceremony in London this week.

The Buzzworks bar sits alongside their 150-seater restaurant, The Vine. It was refurbished and rebranded by the business from the former Elliot's eatery following a seven-figure investment back in 2019.

John Kennedy, General Manager of Vic’s & The Vine said: “Being recognised as the best bar in the south of Scotland is a phenomenal achievement and a truly monumental moment for our whole team.

“We’re absolutely overjoyed that our commitment to providing incredible experiences and outstanding service for our guests hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“The win couldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our incredible staff.

"I can’t wait to celebrate this win with them and our much-loved guests as we continue to lead the way for outstanding hospitality experiences not just here in Ayrshire, but right across southern Scotland.”

When it opened, Vic's bar featured three 500-litre chilled copper beer tanks, a new glass skylight and wall art murals by artist Michael Corr.

The Buzzworks team discovered Vic's had been announced as the regional winner back in April, qualifying them for the grand UK final.

Held in London, the final welcomed all 94 county winners from across the UK to come together and celebrate their achievements, before discovering which venues would go on to become regional winners.

Congratulations to the Vic's team on their latest achievement.
