Police Scotland have appealed for information following a break-in and theft in Ayr. 

The incident happened at a premises on Belmont Road between 3.50am and 4.45am on Sunday, June 23. 

Items including cash, cigarettes and tobacco were stolen. 

Police officers are keen to speak to anyone with information on two people seen in the area at the time.

They are described as being of medium build, had their heads and faces covered and were wearing gloves and shoe covers. 

Detective Constable Kevin Simpson, Ayr Police Office, said: “I’m appealing to anyone who was in the Belmont Road area in the early hours of Sunday morning, and thinks they may have seen something which could help our investigation, to come forward. 

“I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a vehicle acting suspiciously or two people in the area carrying items that looked suspicious between 3am to 5am. 

“Drivers with dashcams, please review your footage and bring anything you think may be important to our attention.”
