A BODY has been found in the search for a missing woman.
Officers confirmed that the body of a woman was found in water near Station Road in Ayr at around 2.50pn on June 17.
She has not yet been formally identified, however the family of missing woman Anne McNeillie has been made aware.
Police said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.50pm on Monday, June 17, 2024, the body of a woman was found in the water near Station Road, Ayr.
"Formal identification has still to take place but the family of Anne McNeillie, 58, reported missing in the town on Sunday, June 16, have been made aware.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
