Plans have been revealed to transform a former church hall near Maybole which was once earmarked for conversion to a cheesemaking facility into a private home.

A series of external and internal alterations are also proposed to the former Ebenezer Gospel Hall at 15 Kirkmichael Road in Crosshill.

Planned work on the outside of the building includes the replacement of the existing windows and doors, removal of the door from the existing kitchen, adding patio door on the west side of the building and fitting two Velux windows in the roof.

Inside, applicant Justina Jankowska is proposing to build a sleeping loft area.

The building previously belonged to the Christian Brethren, but in response to dwindling numbers of worshippers it was sold in 2017.

South Ayrshire Council granted permission later that same year to a Mr Alistair Frost for the conversion of the building into a cheese production facility, but Ms Jankowska's application states that the building hasn't been used for that purpose, and that "previous owners used this building as storage".
