A free community open day is taking place at the Riverside Sports Arena and surrounding grounds.

South Ayrshire Council's Thriving Communities and sport and leisure teams are teaming up with the Ayr North Community Sports Hub and a variety of local sports clubs and organisations to host the Super Saturday Communities Day event on Saturday, June 15

A range of exciting activities will take place across the Riverside Sports Arena, Ayr Academy, and the surrounding grounds at the River Ayr from 10am until 3pm, including a cycle track and led bike ride.

Attendees will also be able to browse stalls with information from council services and partners.

Clubs already confirmed to attend include Prestwick Howie bowling club, Ayr Seaforth Athletics Club, Table Tennis Scotland, Scottish Handball, Prestwick Tennis Centre, Dundonald Gymnastics, AYROC Ayrshire Orienteering Club, South Ayrshire Leisure, Whitletts Victoria Football Club and Vision Perform, with more to be announced.

A number of additional activities are set to take place which will have limited spaces and must be booked ahead.

From 1pm to 3pm, the Thriving Communities Ayr North locality team will also celebrate the achievements of young people, adults and families who have engaged in their programmes over the past 12 months.
