Tarbolton singer Jai McDowall has hailed a "rollercoaster" 13 years since winning Britain's Got Talent.

The local crooner won the fifth series of the talent show back in 2011, winning £100,000 and performing at the Royal Variety Performance.

McDowall was signed by Syco Music and released his debut album, Believe, in December that year.

Prior to his fame on Britain's Got Talent, he was a member of the Ayr Amateur Opera Company and studied at Ayr College.

Since 2023, McDowall has been a member of the vocal troupe G4, who perform across the country.

He has now marked 13 years since his big win with a post online.

He said: "It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride since Britain's Got Talent

"Never did I think I’d end up doing all the stuff I have. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store.

"Thanks to everyone who’s helped along the way."
