A much-loved Alloway coffee shop is changing hands after 11 years.

Marna Ferguson, owner of Poet's Corner, has called time after more than a decade of serving customers and friends.

Poet's Corner sits adjacent to the village's post office, and across from the historic Burns Cottage.

The popular spot will be under new ownership from Wednesday, and Marna says it has been a privilege to serve customers including celebrities and royalty.

She said: "Poet's Corner is not only a coffee shop, it has been a hub where friends, families and individuals gather to make life long memories whilst enjoying delicious food.

"I am immensely grateful for the continued support and loyalty of our regular customers, who have become like family.

"Your smiles, stories, and shared experiences have enriched my life in ways I could never have imagined.

"The dedication of my incredible team has been the backbone of the success. Their hard work and dedication have made Poet's Corner a loved local fixture and I’m delighted to share with you that the same friendly, smiling faces will remain

"As Poets Corner enters a new chapter, I am excited for all of the staff, customers, neighbours and all who visit the village.

"I am confident that when the new owners welcome you on Wednesday, they will bring fresh energy and ideas while maintaining the same level of quality and service you have come to expect.

"I personally would also like to wish the new owners all the luck and success with their new venture."
