A man has been charged by police after a tractor overturned on the A77 on Tuesday morning. 

Emergency services were called to the trunk road between Girvan and Turnberry just after 10am. 

The man was charged with a road traffic offence and the road was reopened around 90 minutes after the incident. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a tractor having overturned on the A77 between Girvan and Turnberry around 10.10am on Tuesday, May 21.

“Officers attended and one man was charged with a road traffic offence. The road was blocked and re-opened around 11.40am.”
