A new tourism app to guide people through South Ayrshire has been launched by Destination South Ayrshire.
The app, loaded with information about local attractions and activities, comes with a GPS feature that will help users locate nearby spots of interest quickly and easily.
South Ayrshire's attractions, from beaches, golf courses, to museums, castles, and historic buildings, will be some of the highlights in the app which also allows people to follow self-led trails.
Councillor Alec Clark, South Ayrshire Council’s portfolio holder for tourism, culture and rural affairs, said: "South Ayrshire has so much to offer as a tourist destination, with its rich history, golf traditions, and many exciting events taking place this year.
"The new Destination South Ayrshire app will be a great resource for tourists and locals alike – with all the information you need to have a fantastic day out or stay in South Ayrshire in one place."
Councillor Brian Connolly, the local authority's portfolio holder for sport and leisure, said the app highlights all the facilities South Ayrshire has to offer
He said: "This will help us to promote the area as a destination of choice to those interested in our wonderful golf courses, scenic walks, and more.”
The app is available on the Apple app store and Google Play.
For existing users of the Ayr Through the Ages app, the new Destination South Ayrshire app can be obtained through an update.
South Ayrshire businesses and events can register to appear in the app for free on the Destination South Ayrshire website.
