A Prestwick post office is set to close its doors next month.
The New Prestwick Post Office, on Ayr Road, will be closing on Saturday, March 23 at 12.30pm following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.
The Post Office is now inviting applications from potential retail partners interested in running a branch in the area.
The vacancy is currently being advertised on www.runapostoffice.co.uk.
The advert gives 'estimated Post Office fees' of between £23,850 and £26,500 per annum, based on 12 months' trading history.
A closing date has been set for applications of April 17, but the Post Office says the advert may close before then if sufficient interest is generated.
The nearest post offices to the closing branch are located at Tams Brig, Hawkhill and on Prestwick Main Street.
