Proposals to create short-term letting accommodation in a listed building in Ayr have been approved by local authority officials.
Ayrshire SC Ltd has applied for a change of use for 4 Bath Place from office space to short-term letting.
The building is a C-listed property located within Ayr's conservation area, and listed building consent was applied for.
The property will be listed on booking.com, AirBnB, VRBO, VisitScotland and its own website with a maximum occupancy of eight people, although a typical booking is for one to two.
The applicant intends to take bookings only from one group at a time and to allow children, when accompanied by guests over 18, as well as pets.
The property is available all year round. The applicant operates a two-night minimum policy and the maximum stay is 28 nights.
There are three double bedrooms in the property, as well as a cinema room, which corresponds to a maximum occupancy of eight people including any children.
There would be a key safe, with a second key safe as back up, located at the door of the main entrance, and guests will be given access codes 24 hours before they arrive.
Guests can arrive between 2pm and 8pm and must leave by 10.30am on the day of checkout.
Council planners gave a green light to the plans, stating that the building must not be used for anything other than holiday lets.
Documents state: "The impact of the proposed change of use in regard to the character and appearance of the built environment/ conservation area would be negligible as no external changes are proposed to the property itself."
