Proposals for a new 'wellness centre' in Prestwick have been given the green light.
A planning application had been submitted to South Ayrshire Council for a change of use for 5 Monkton Road from an office space to a wellness centre.
Planning documents stated that the last use for the space, which lies opposite Monkton and Prestwick North Parish Church, was as office space for a garage.
Plans for the complex include a meditation studio, infrared sauna room and float tank.
The applicant intends to open seven days a week from 9am until 6pm, and occasionally opening from 6am or to 9pm where required by customers
The application has now been approved by the council's planning officers, who said the plans would enhance the town centre area.
The report stated: "It is considered the proposed use, being in close proximity to the town centre, shall increase the mix of uses of the town centre and enhance and improve its vitality and viability."
