Plans for an exciting tourism development, including a live-in double decker bus, in South Ayrshire have been given the green light.
Kerrie Chinn Stockley applied for permission to South Ayrshire Council for a change of use of agricultural land and outbuildings to create short stay accommodation at Crorieshill, near Maybole.
The proposals include the renovation of a milking parlour into a one-bed unit with a toilet, shower and therapy room.
They also include the creation of yurts during the summer months, shower facilities and the installation of the double decker bus which will be used as living accommodation too.
The bus would include bunk beds, one double bed and a kitchenette in the forward area of the vehicle.
Planning documents state: “This proposal is for the change of use of the outbuildings. One building is currently a milking parlour.
"It is proposed to convert this to a single bedroom rental unit, and to insert a bathroom building into the end of the existing building to contain laundry, two bathrooms and a therapy room.
“This proposal includes the change of use from agricultural fields to glamping accommodation, with semi-permanent yurts that would be erected over the warmer months - and a converted double decker bus.
Plans have been developed to screen the site from surrounding properties, and composting toilets will be used for visitors.
Council planners gave the green light to the plans earlier this month, saying that the development would support the local tourism industry.
Papers stated: "The proposed accommodation is compatible with the surrounding area in terms of the nature and scale of the proposals, which supports the South Ayrshire tourism sector and provides holiday accommodation."
Crorieshill, a former dairy farm, was advertised for sale in December 2022 for offers over £1.07 million.
A new company, Crorieshill Barns Ltd, was officially incorporated on March 9, 2023, with two directors, listed as Karolyn Chinn and Terry Stockley.
