The Gaiety Theatre in Ayr is offering fans the chance to go behind-the-scenes on a guided tour of the famous venue - but you'll have to move quickly to secure a place.

The tours are returning to give theatre-lovers the chance to tread the boards and learn all about how the facility runs.

Built in 1902 and reconstructed, remodelled and reinstated on various occasions since then, the Gaiety's stage has hosted many famous names in the world of Scottish and UK theatre.

Having been family-run for many years, it's now owned and operated by the Ayr Gaiety Partnership and aims to increase wellbeing through the arts as well as bringing a regular programme of top notch entertainment to the town.

Tours are taking place on three dates this spring: Sunday, March 24 at 2.30pm, Wednesday, April 10 at 7pm, and Sunday, May 5 at 2.30pm.

Bookings for the March date can be made at https://bit.ly/49antWB, for the April date at https://bit.ly/496pVxp, and for the May date at https://bit.ly/3wbZgRa.

A spokesperson said: "Explore the rich history behind The Gaiety, one of Scotland's oldest theatres, and enjoy an exclusive behind the scenes guided tour of our theatre."

Places on the tour cost £12 for adults and £10 for concessions (including children under 16, adults over 60, students, carers, those with a disability and the unemployed).
