Part of the A77 at Bridgemill, north of Girvan, will be closed overnight next week while bridge repair work is carried out.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential bridge expansion joint replacements, 500m north of Girvan, from Wednesday, February 14 until Saturday, February 17 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
An Amey spokesperson said: "The work will be carried out using overnight road closures and a signed diversion will be in operation. We thank road users for their patience and co-operation while this essential work takes place.
"This scheme will benefit around 8,500 road users using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future."
The signed diversion will operate as follows:
A77 northbound- Traffic will be directed from Bridgemill Roundabout to the B734 towards Dailly, will continue straight on the B7035 towards Dailly, continue straight onto B741 towards Crosshill and turn left onto the B7023 towards Crosshill, turn left and continue along the B7023 towards Maybole. From here, traffic will turn left onto B77 (High Street) and re-join the A77 at Maybole Bypass.
A77 southbound- Traffic will be directed from the A77 Maybole Bypass onto the B77 (Kirkoswald Road) From here, traffic will turn right onto the B7023 towards Crosshill, turn right onto the B7023 towards Dailly and continue straight onto the B741. Traffic will continue straight onto the B7035 at Dailly. From here traffic will continue straight onto the B734 towards Girvan and re-join the A77 at Bridgemill Roundabout.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
