One of the runways at Prestwick Airport was closed overnight last week as routine resurfacing works took place.
40 workers took to the runway to resurface a 210-metre stretch, as well as replace vital lighting equipment.
An airport spokesperson explained: "Our Projects and Airfields Operation teams carried out routine maintenance last week.
"The complex operation involved resurfacing a 210-metre stretch of the runway and a full rewire and installation of new runway centre lights.
"It involved a 40-strong team, multiple plant vehicles and approximately 1,500 tonnes of materials.
"The runway was closed overnight to allow work to be completed."
