Police helped to tackle dog fouling in Girvan following complaints from residents.
Officers from the area's Locality Policing Team carried out joint patrols with South Ayrshire Council environmental health officers.
Police and officers from South Ayrshire Council proactively engaged with dog walkers reminding them of their responsibilities.
A spokesperson added: "All dog walkers were acting in a responsible manner."
If you do not clean up after your dog you may face a £80 on-the-spot fine, increasing to £100 if not paid within 28 days.
If you refuse to pay the fine, you may be prosecuted and may face a court appearance with a maximum penalty of £500
