Motorists are being warned of overnight road closures on a major road in Girvan next week.
Trunk road maintenance firm Amey are carrying out speed management works on the a77 at Girvan between Montgomerie Street and Bridgemill roundabout.
The works will take place from Monday, February 5 until Monday, February 12 between 8pm and 6am each weeknight.
The work will be carried out using overnight road closures and a signed diversion will be in operation.
Amey said it will benefit around 8,000 vehicles using the route each day, by improving the condition of pedestrian facilities and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Signed diversion
Northbound traffic will exit the A77 at Shallochpark Roundabout onto Coalpots Road and will then turn left onto the B734 to re-join the A77 at Bridgemill Roundabout. Southbound traffic will follow this route but in reverse.
Temporary traffic signals currently installed in Girvan will also remain in place throughout this period.
Amey says the work is weather dependent, and "may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable".
