THREE men have appeared in court charged with carrying out a savage assault on a man in Ayr.
Ryan Hill, 26, Arran Hill, 24, and 34-year-old Ryan Young are accused of assaulting the man to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life in the town’s York Street on February 22, 2023.
The trio all denied the charge against them when they made a brief appearance at the town’s sheriff court last week.
Court papers allege they seized hold of the man by the body, pushed him through a door and demanded money and drugs from him.
The Crown’s indictment also claims they repeatedly struck the man on the head with a knife and did the same with a bottle, as well as robbing him of a mobile phone.
Court documents also claim that at the time of the alleged offence, Ryan Hill was the subject of a bail order granted at Ayr Sheriff Court on February 1 last year.
The three accused were represented by Robert Logan, Steven Maxwell and John Gallagher respectively when they pleaded not guilty to the charge during last week’s hearing.
Ryan Hill, of Duke Terrace in Ayr, and Arran Hill and Ryan Young, both described in court papers as having an address of HMP Kilmarnock, will return to court to face the allegations at a later date.
All accused persons reported in the Ayr Advertiser are considered innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty by a sheriff or a jury.
