TWO people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash on the A77.
Police are appealing for information after a female pedestrian was struck by a car on the southbound trunk road near Ayr.
The accident happened near the Holmston roundabout at around 7.25pm on Wednesday, January 24.
Police say the 39-year-old woman was crossing the A77 when she was struck by an Audi A3 being driven by a 69-year-old man.
Ambulance attended and the pedestrian and the driver were both taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
The driver was later released; the condition of the woman has not been revealed.
Constable Stuart MacArthur said: “Our investigation into the crash is continuing.
“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone driving on this stretch of road around the time of the crash who may have information or any dash-cam footage to contact us through 101 with reference number 3286 of January 24.”
