Two men have been arrested following the discovery of a cannabis cultivation site in Ayr.
Officers attended at premises in Green Street at around 10.10am on Monday, January 15.
They recovered nearly 300 cannabis plants and more than 70 kilos of dried cannabis.
Police say the potential street value is estimated to be around £650,000.
Two men, aged 29 and 32, have now been arrested and charged.
Kristjan Begu, 32, and Altin Laskaj, 29, both of no fixed abode, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court today (Tuesday, January 16) to face two charges under the misuse of drugs act and one charge of tampering with electricity meters.
They made no plea and were remanded in custody.
A police spokesperson said this afternoon: “Two men, aged 29 and 32, have been arrested and charged following the discovery of a cannabis cultivation site in Ayr.
“Around 10.10am on Monday, January 15, 2024, officers attended at a premises in Green Street, Ayr and recovered nearly 300 cannabis plants and more than 70 kilos of dried cannabis.
“The potential street value is around £650,000.
“Two men were due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 16 January 2024.“
