A jazz club in Ayr are kicking off 2024 with a crowd-pleaser event for all blues music lovers.
Members of Ayr Jazz Club finished the year partying with Paula Jackman and Her Jazz Masters on December 1.
The band includes some well-known names from the English Jazz scene including “Magic” Mike Henry on cornet, “Lord” Marc Easoner on sousaphone and Hugh Crozier, a long-time member of the London-based Bill Brunskill Band, on piano.
Now the group are set to welcome The New Phoenix Jazz Band to The Fairfield Hotel on Friday, January 12.
The Edinburgh-based band have played regularly at Ayr Jazz Club since 2014 and features a group of talented musicians led by bassist Jerry Forde and fronted by vocalist Christine Adams.
They are supported by Dick Lee on reeds, Lorne Cowieson on trumpet, Phil Adams on banjo and guitar, and Jack Wilson on drums.
There has been significant interest shown by local people towards Ayr Jazz Club and visitors are always made most welcome.
To preserve live jazz music in Ayrshire, the club's members have pledged to do everything they can to promote and sustain jazz for the future.
They hope to see another good crowd at Friday's event, which starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for £10.
