Two Ayrshire towns have been named among the happiest places to live in Scotland.
Property company Rightmove has compiled a list showing the happiest places to live across the UK.
Both Kilmarnock and Ayr make it on the top 15 list in Scotland, and also rank within the top 100 in the UK as a whole.
Ayr is ranked in the survey as the seventh happiest place in Scotland, and the 83rd happiest across the UK.
Kilmarnock comes in at 10th in the Scottish list, and 97th across the UK as a whole.
The happiest place to live in Scotland has been revealed as Galashiels, with Inverness, Dumfries, Dundee and Perth making up the rest of the top five.
Across the UK, Richmond-upon-Thames in London tops the list, with Winchester in Hampshire in second, and Monmouth in Wales in third.
A Rightmove spokesperson said: "The results of this year’s study showed that the most important contributors to happiness were feeling a sense of pride, belonging and community.
"Access to green space and nature is also important to residents, with those living in a rural area near a national park, or an area of outstanding natural beauty, more likely to feel happy where they live."
