Volunteer lifeboat crew at Girvan RNLI were shocked to find a pod of dolphins accompanying them on a recent training exercise.
The lifeboat was joined by the animals as the crew set off for their exercise from Girvan Harbour on Sunday, November 26.
The crew said they just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and shared stunning videos of the encounter.
A spokesperson said: "Our volunteer crew went out on exercise this morning and were joined by a rather large group of playful friends, sometimes your just in the right place at the right time."
The video had more than 11,000 views at the time of writing.
People from across the world have commented on the video.
Wanda Wootton said: "It is so thrilling to see these amazing creatures leaping out of the water along side of the boat when on a cruise or even just racing each other up and down past the beach when looking over the water.
"I have many wonderful memories of such sights from our annual summer trips to Daytona Beach. The girls were enjoying building Sand Castles."
While Frances Ormsby said: "Amazing footage, well done!"
